Corn. Did you know?
For each kernel of corn there is one silk. Each individual silk has to be pollinated to produce one kernel of corn on a cob. At the top of each corn stalk is a tassel. Pollen falls from the tassel to the silks.
This is the tassel of the corn, it is like the flowers of the corn stalk.
Each one of the "flowers" falls to hit one silk.
The red part of the corn are the silks, each one is attached to a kernel of corn.
I have to admit that I did not know that there was one silk for each kernel of corn and that each one had to be pollinated. You learn something new every day.
