It's been a while!

It seems, well it has been a while since we have updated the blog. Things are finely moving along in the hydroponic house, we have had a few set backs in learning how to do this. Once we planted it got to hot to fast and we deployed the shade cloth to help cool it off some more. This leads us to the fact that we are definitely going to have to find a way of cooling during the summer months. But right now it it looking good. It seems like it has taken longer than it should for the lettuce to be ready to harvest and we are hoping in 2 more weeks it will be ready. We picked 3 bunches Saturday and they looked good but it took 3 to make what we think 1 should look like.
Musclun mix lettuce.

We have also planted baby bok choi and these guys look good too. May be another 3 or more weeks.
Baby Bok choi

Basil is our trial herb and these guys will do the best in the heat. In this picture they look a little droopy but they haven't been planted very long in this picture.

These are the next to be ready to harvest. We think the timing is going to be the hardest to figure out so that there will be something ready to be harvested weekly.

Second harvest.

I hope everyone is excited as we are to see how this works out. Being able to have some lettuce and veggies to be able to harvest more of they year will be really nice.
